SCIENCE TO BUSINESS NETWORK

 GUELPH CHAPTER

The S2BN Guelph Chapter is building a network of business-minded scientists all focused on increasing commercialization and entrepreneurialism throughout the life sciences.

WHY:  Graduate students are a wealth of talent, intelligence, creativity, and promise.  We aim to nurture and develop this potential to inspire passion and partner it with possibility.  Importantly, the majority of MSc’s, PhD’s and Postdoc’s in Canada will end up working outside of academia.  That is why we at the S2BN Guelph strive to reimagine the graduate student experience as an opportunity to train not just the next generation of career academics, but also the next generation of entrepreneurs and key opinion leaders in industry.

HOW:  We will supplement current graduate student training with skill-focused content and networking opportunities to improve student readiness for the broad range of post-graduate careers available in today’s fast-growing world.  This is accomplished by using the S2BN brand as a platform to host skill development workshops and a variety of informative panels, with the mission to connect graduate students with highly skilled and successful mentors from a broad range of non-academic careers.

WHAT: The S2BN is building a network of business-minded scientists all aiming to increase commercialization and entrepreneurship in the life sciences.
